Look what I found!..

Since I've turned into a complete twitter bug, (even more obsessed with twitter than I am with facebook!) I have found its a huge help to every sort of designer and artist out there.. and now I get the opportunity to follow them and be inspired by their work! AMAZING.
And amongst all my fellow twitter bugs I found this absolute gem...

SANDRA DIECKMANN

“My head is full of stories and creatures and conversations. I can’t be any other way. Sometimes I think it is the way I was allowed to be free without fear so early on that ignited this dreaminess. I explored the woods, spent loads of time reading, drawing, and just making things. I think I just never stopped.”

I love her work! Go check her website out, her illustrations are so beautiful. You must go and take a peek. I love her drawing techniques, her mark making gives the drawings so much individuality and depth. They're just simply lovely.

Playful Promises Update

The wonderful Playful Promises are holding a Press Party! But only for lucky people who manage to get themselves on the guestlist!.. We've been busy preparing for the press day at Molton House on the 20th October. Any blog writers, journalists, stylists or people that should be playing with their panties send an email so we can put you on the guest list. laura@playfulpromises.com..
BUT here is the invite/flyer.. I had to post this as its my work! I was given the task to design the flyers - the theme had to be 'Victorian Paper Dolls'.. when I researched I found that all Victorian paper dolls where just that, Victorian. Quite old and boring in respect to how exciting Playful Promises are. So I took it on myself and created a Pin-Up paper doll! This is what I came up with, luckily.. they loved it! And so do I, I'm so proud... Let me know what you think!

Also, here's the link to their facebook page!

My Intern at Playful Promises

So, three weeks into my Intern at London's Playful Promises and it exceeds ALL expectations.
If you're not too familiar with Playful Promises they're a London designed and based lingerie brand, who also specialise in swimwear and gifting.. If you take a look at www.playfulpromises.com, you'll see much more about them! They have such a kitsch, retro vibe which I love about them and their directional, flirty designs just tick all the boxes. Also, they're a small company and there was only 7 of us in the office which is based in London's coolest area - Shoreditch. This makes the whole experience so much more intimate, and I'm learning more and more everyday. I don't think I could have been more lucky if I tried! I thought my role might mainly entail being a tea girl or running around buying printer ink and ferrying parcels to the post office everyday.. but on day 1 I was designing a print for ASOS lingerie! literally AMAZING. I found that they also manufacture for republic, asos, oli, urban outfitters, topshop, figleaves and many more. They really do have so much to them as a whole. I just thought the business went as far as their London boutique, which I have to say is well worth a visit! It is situated down Bethnal Green Road.. if you're in the area pop in! The shop manager Harriet is lovely.
They also have a blog, and twitter. Take a look at the website and if you can't be tempted to buy anything then make sure you follow their tweets and read the blog.
I have so much more to say but busy researching trend forecasts for future collections.. exciting!
More updates on my amazing experience to come soon ... xoxo
